Don't Put away that Boat just yet!
Winter is almost upon us but this is not the time to stop fishing! There Steelhead are available in the Indianastreams and the St. Joseph River, Brown Trout in the harbors, (especially Kenosha and Milwaukee).
The Smallmouth Bass are still putting on the feedback in the Fox and Kankakee Rivers. If you talk to our very own Bill Lozanski he will tell you that the catfish on the Illinois River are biting right up until Christmas.
Our resident Sauger and Walleye expert and last month's speaker Mark Komo know's that the cooler it gets the better and bigger the Sauger bite onthe Illinois River. He should know. He took 5th Place in the Dec 2 IWT Event out of Ottawa.
If you want pan-fish or Muskie don't forget the Fox Chain of Lakes, no crazy water skiers or speed boats, just lots of fish putting on the feed-bag.
All the more reason to belong to such a great multi-species fishing club! The recent trip to Lake Sara was a success because as members we all shared our spots, techniques, bait and fellowship. You could spend a couple hundred dollars on a good guide for one day and not learn as much about the great sport of fishing as our members do for $50.00 for an entire year.
If you join in December., there will be a drawing for a free membership for all those that join at the Decembermeeting. I look forward to ending the year with tight lines - hope to see you on the water!
