Dear RFC Member,

This is a reminder that our club will be having a Food Drive tomorrow at the December 8th meeting to benefit the St. Barbara Food Pantry in Brookfield. This food pantry has been in existence since 1980. It has grown over the years and is currently assisting 150 families a month. At this time of the year, the food pantry especially welcomes any and all donations.

The Food Pantry has a program at Christmas where they make up baskets of food for a complete dinner, which includes turkey or ham, with all the trimmings. For their holiday baskets, they suggest food donations** such as canned vegetables, potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin, and cranberries. Since they have limited space for refrigeration, they suggest gift certificates from local stores for the turkeys or ham.

At our December 8th meeting, we will be accepting donations of:

Food (see suggested items below)
Cash (will be used to purchase gift certificates for turkeys or hams from Tischler’s in Brookfield )
Checks (made out to: St. Barbara’s Food Pantry)

Let’s join together to brighten the holiday season for some of our neighbors.

Beans: pork and beans, kidney, pinto, etc.
Canned meat: stew, chili, ravioli, spaghetti
Tuna, sardines
Canned fruit: pears, peaches, fruit cocktail, etc.
Canned vegetables: corn, green beans, peas, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes
Paper products: napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, sandwich bags, Kleenex
Soaps: laundry detergent, dish soap, hand/bath soap
